Carter makes Charlton switch

West Ham U21 midfielder Matt Carter has departed the club and signed for Charlton Athletic on a two year deal.

The talented central midfielder impressed a lot over the last two seasons for the U18s after making his debut as an U15 in 2012/13. A broken arm ruled him out for the start of 2014/15 but came back strongly and went on to make his U21 debut that season, featuring four times. He also scored directly from a corner in the U18s 3-2 win over Liverpool that season.cqj6hn3wiaa4mnm

2015/16, the second year of his scholarship, saw him feature for the U18s 23 times in the league but just once for the U21s – towards the end of the season away at Newcastle where he netted the final goal of the game with a sublime effort from range.

In other news, several former Hammer
s have found new clubs. Ross Elsom has linked up with Bishop’s Stortford and Clarke Bogard has joined Soham Town Rangers – where another former Hammer in Kieran Bailey has joined, after spending last season at Colchester.

I’d like to wish the best of luck to everyone at their new clubs.
